Our Vision
At DG Technologies, we turn ideas into the tools that keep vehicle networks running for an industry that never stands still. With secure connectivity now the bedrock of modern mobility, we incorporate CyberTech – our own cybersecurity safeguard against digital threats – into everything we build. Quality, efficiency, security and service are how we work, every day, on every product.
Our Mission
DG Technologies designs and builds intelligent hardware, software and cybersecurity solutions for vehicle networks, from CAN to DoIP and beyond. Our mission is to expand that technology into new industries worldwide, strengthening trust with manufacturers, suppliers and government agencies alike.
Our Customers
From test engineers to government fleets, our customers know they can count on our expertise, quality tools and service. Manufacturers, tier suppliers and agencies across automotive, military, transportation industries and departments of transportation trust DG. Our diagnostic tools give technicians and engineers secure and reliable access to the vehicle network.
Our History
DG Technologies started with a simple goal: help engineers make sense of the vehicle network. Nearly four decades later, that goal hasn’t changed. Only the technology has.
1987 — Mark Zachos founds Dearborn Group Inc. in the basement of his Detroit-area home. His focus is on CAN networking training and building some of the industry’s earliest in-vehicle communication interfaces.
1991 — Zachos leaves his software engineering job at United Technologies to run the company full-time as DG Technologies. He moves it to the first of three consecutively larger spaces in Farmington Hills, Mich.
2001 — Zachos joins the SAE J1939 Technical Standards Committee, kicking off what will become a companywide commitment to industry service on standards committees and task forces for SAE, TMC and IEEE.
2013 — DG Technologies enters into a technology partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The relationship continues to grow through multiple renewals and an expanded scope.
2019 — Dearborn Group Inc. adds forensic data recovery for heavy-duty vehicle crash investigations when it acquires Synercon Technologies, moving its team from Tulsa, Okla., to Farmington Hills.
2022 — DG Technologies modernizes diagnostics for a 246-bus, four-powertrain fleet at the Delaware Transit Corporation (DART), proving our platform scales across mixed and electrified fleets.
2024 — DG’s DPA Inspect software and DPA XL diagnostic adapter pass rigorous California Air Resources Board (CARB) emissions systems testing requirements to become certified CARB Clean Truck Check OBD test tools.
Today — Software DG originally built for the U.S. military’s MRAP vehicle diagnostic kit now protects fleet operations at VDOT. State departments of transportation, transit authorities and federal agencies rely on DG for hardware, software and technician training. All of this is built on standards our own team helps write through active roles in SAE, ISO and TMC.
With a technology center in Indiana and a sales office in New Jersey, DG Technologies is SBA-eligible for federal contracting and built to serve customers of every size, from independent shops to state agencies, for the long haul.
